I sometimes wonder if there are enough wealthy folk in the world to support the shops that seem to be patronized only by those with disposable incomes I can only imagine. Perhaps the question comes from my long exposure to Puget Sound sensibilities. I have faint recollections of old money scions, visible to my northeastern youth and the quit elegance of some Europeans I have met with homes in five European cities, plus New York.

Still, it seems to me, that if I were to become a man of commerce, I could make more at the margin of items sold to millions for dollars than could be made from items sold for millions to dozens or even thousands. I may be wrong. There is so much about this world I cannot grok.
