Many of the tools we use and depend upon that are the Internet would be illegal to create today. For example, search engines were created in a time when it wasn’t viewed as a crime to explore the systems attached to the Internet. This is only a small example. Take a look at what the Internet is made from and the tools we use to make it work for us then imagine them being built today. I feel safe in saying you will come to the same conclusion. What do you think that means for tomorrow? Can we still achieve the dystopia envisioned by the cyberpunk novelist?
