I had imagined I would write a reaction to a news item of the week today. I subscribed to the print edition of the New York Times. Today I received no paper. A 'production problem' will result in no paper delivery today at all. Wow! The New York Times cannot deliver reliably. This is the unfortunate state of the world during this period of "lowest bid" contract work. We see these issues often. Even less appealing is the responsibility dodge.
GENERIC CUSTOMER SERVICE: "It wasn't us. It was those people over there."
ME: "Sorry. Not true. My relationship is with you, not with your shipper, your printer, your network, or your delivery crew. Thus, it is you."
