Phone Book

Once upon a time, during a quaint but short lived period in human history, the arrival of the phone book was important. Heck, the phone book was important. The white pages had the numbers of people you might want to call but didn't speak to on the phone regularly. The yellow pages was where you went when you needed to find a X or required the services of a Y. Not anymore. That "The new phone book is here" scene from the Jerk will be totally lost on any future generation if it hasn't already been lost.

There are four units in my part of the building. Once upon a time the phone books would have been quickly whisked away into the building. Not today. Today five sets sit outside waiting for recycle.

well, I'm in a house and not an apartment... although I'm not sure it would make a difference. ;-)
